![]() The City of Greater Bendigo plays a key role in the economic development of Bendigo and the surrounding region. It has played a significant part in defining Bendigo's reputation as a centre for financial services and a communications hub. The City has played a key role in facilitating the development of BSX. In particular, it provided some of the seed funding required to carry out the initial concept work for the BSX Alternative Equity Market.
The Department has wide-ranging responsibilities for coordinating whole of government policy advice and service delivery to the business community. Together with the Department of Treasury and Finance, it is the lead agency for the economic development of Victoria and for improving the competitiveness of Victorian business. The Department has assisted BSX in a range of ways including providing a grant of $50,000 which partially funded the initial feasibility work for the BSX Alternative Equity Market.
